About African Heritage

In 2016, I relocated to a big house nestled in the heart of Tervuren. This journey began with a trainee named Ollie, who sought accommodation for an internship at my former workplace. Extending a room to Ollie initiated a trend that continued with the arrival of many others who followed in Ollie’s footsteps.

As my daughters ventured off for their studies, their rooms became home to persons seeking temporary lodging for personal or professional reasons, expatriates moving to/out of Belgium…

In our big house we have 2 lovely senior dogs and cats. They are very social and do not come into the rooms. We are are recomposed family, amm together we are 7, with 4 daughters and 1 son in law. Eleonore lives with Joao in Brussels, Marion and Louise stay most of the time in their student rooms. Rosalie and Aziz stay in the vintage house when Rosalie is with us.

In 2019, we fell in love with a small house and embarked on a journey to transform it into a welcoming home for guests and ourselves. Bathing in light and with vintage charm, we preserved its original character.

What sets our homes apart? Situated in the heart of an beautiful international village, surrounded by the renowned park and centuries-old Forêt de Soignes, they offer proximity to public transportation to Leuven, Brussels, and Brussels Airport. Yet, they offer an oasis of tranquility in a safe environment. Within walking distance, you’ll find an array of amenities, including shops, restaurants, pharmacies, playgrounds, a skate park, and even a swimming pool.

Why the name African heritage? My affinity for Africa dates back to my four-year stay in Eswatini, extensive travels across various African countries, a godchild originating from Rwanda, and professional activities in Africa. This combined with our location close to the Central Africa Museum, the name became an evidence!

Our dedication to sustainability is reflected in our process to obtain of the Green Key label. From solar panels to eco-friendly cleaning products, efficient insulation, and moderate heating, we engage in several actions. Additionally, we offer electric vehicle charging facilities (for small cars).
